Who We Are
We are mainly first generation Turkish immigrant mothers, residing in Coventry for the last 20 years. Throughout this time we have been supporting new comers to our city, building strong relationships and community networks.
Achieving positive social change by connecting in meaningful interactions.
Unity is necessary in establishing sustainable solutions for our ever-changing needs. Women play the most important role in building bridges to care for the world around them.
British Turkish Cultural Association aims to fulfill our social responsibly to give back to the women and young people to increase their well-being and future prospects locally, nationally and globally.
Projects
Saturday Workshops
Thanks to Coventry City Council Resilience Team’s Community Grant, we provided Saturday Workshops to our Turkish community in Coventry for 6 months from October 2022 till March 2023 at Stoke Heath Community Centre.
Our Regular Events Included
- Turkish Cooking Lessons
- Yoga Sessions
- Aromatherapy Workshops
- Face Painting
- Painting
- Arts and Crafts
- We celebrated Cumhuriyet Bayramı and Halloween on the same event.
- Community volunteers provided guidance and resources for the activities.
We are grateful to all of our participants and volunteers for their time and input.
